You started a business. Congratulations.
Okay. You’re not entirely sure what you’re doing. Things that you expected to take a little time are taking a lot of time, and problems that you didn’t know existed have become a part time job, and just when you feel like you finally have started to get things under control, you realize, “Oh crap! I need a website. Wait. What does that even look like? Wait. Do I need a website? I don’t need a website. No. That’s stupid. I definitely need a website. But why? What’s my website supposed to do?”
Relax. Calm down. You’re experiencing a common reaction. Yes. You should create a website. No. You shouldn’t expect to know everything to do. And if your business is not driven by online services, you might not even know what’s the point of having a website.
Your website should be a central node in the network that is your business. You may already be using online services to run and promote your business, or you may still be acquiring services in the online world. Can anyone find your business on Google yet? Regardless of what stage you’re at, you should start the main website for your business today.
I bet you’re looking for more to be said about this. You’re right. There’s a lot more that needs to be said, but you don’t want your business to fail because you got stuck in paralysis by analysis. Don’t worry about making mistakes. You will. Get your website started now.
